and "Artificial Intelligence: Retrospects"
At pp. 601-603, Hofstadter lists some of the domains of AI, all of
which are said to require intelligence. Now, what attempts have there
been to examine what all these domains/problems have in common?
Why is the look-ahead part of Samuel's Checker Program called
dynamic? It seems to me that looking ahead and mechanically
choosing the best way is just as static as the no-look-ahead
approach. The combination of the two would in my opinion deserve
to be called dynamic...
